News:

Opening Hours
The reception area is open from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday. We are closed at weekends and on all public holidays.

We have extended our opening hours. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, a few routine appointments are available with a GP from 7am. Please note that nurse appointments are not available, and the reception telephone will not be on.

Out of Hours
If you or your family need urgent medical care when the surgery is closed, please phone the usual daytime telephone number (9858822) and your call will be re-directed to the out-of-hours service.

Telephone Advice
The best time to call the surgery for advice is after morning clinics, usually between 11.30 and 12 noon. If the doctor you wish to speak to is still busy they will call you back, provided you leave a phone number, preferably a land line.

Registration

The surgery is able to accept new patients at present.

Training

Every two months the practice will be closed on  a Tuesday afternoon to allow protected staff training time. We need to  do this to keep up with changes and developments which affect the practice.

The next  date is:  14th September

On these afternoons the phones will be switched off for up to five hours, reception may be closed, and any urgent needs will be directed to the out of hours service

Health Visitors

Ann Maloney works with us giving general health advice, particularly to parents/carers of young children. They have an open clinic on a Tuesday afternoon from 1.30 to 3pm. They are on 8831400. They can put you in touch with various sources of help and support.

immunisationBaby and Child Immunisations

We run a clinic on Tuesday afternoons between 12 and 1pm, for babies and children to have their injections and developmental checks. Appointments can be made at reception, or phone us on 9858822. We strongly recommend that children should have the full course of immunisations on offer, to protect against infectious diseases which can cause death and disability.

Home Nursing

We work with a team of district nurses, who visit patients requiring nursing assistance at home. They can be contacted on 8831400. Patients recently discharged from hospital will have their home nursing arranged by the ward sister.

Carers

Please tell us if you are a carer or someone cares for you so that we can offer the help and support you may need. Please ask at reception for a form to let us know

Chaperones

In some circumstances it may be that you or the doctor may prefer to have a chaperone in the room during examinations. There is no question of the doctor being offended if you wish to have a chaperone in the room. You may either bring a friend or relative, or a member of staff will be happy to provide this service for you.

Sexual Health Services

We are now offering a sexual health check-up to everybody aged 15 to 24.

This is just for people without symptoms and will look for infections such as chlamydia. It does not involve an examination, but is just a simple urine test for men; and women can take their own swab.

If you would like to go ahead, please book an appointment with our nurse, Christine.
